Assess your organization\u2019s culture.<\/strong>\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">a. Describe your organization\u2019s culture.\u00a0Which values are rewarded? Which values are discouraged?\u00a0Which values best fit your own orientation to the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">b. Share your perceptions with other colleagues and, possibly, with\u00a0your boss.<\/p>\n\n\n<strong>2. Identify your friendship rules. Talk to your friends, coworkers, and\u00a0family members and bring these rules into your consciousness. Write\u00a0them down. Continue to notice your unspoken expectations.<\/strong>\n<strong>3. Identify the friendship rules of other women in your life, both inside\u00a0and outside of work. Help bring these rules into their consciousness.\u00a0Begin to notice where yours and theirs are similar and different.<\/strong>\n<strong>4. Become more comfortable with conflict.<\/strong>\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">a. Make a list of the thoughts and feelings that come up for you\u00a0when you think about conflict. Notice whether you think about\u00a0conflict as negative or neutral.\nb. The next time a conflict or potential disagreement comes up,\u00a0take the risk to reframe it as just a difference of opinion and stay\u00a0engaged. Notice what happens.\nc. Assess how your organization holds or values conflict. Is conflict\u00a0seen as healthy or as destructive?
